Accreditation
HHCC is accredited with Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada, the highest possible designation from Accreditation Canada.
We have consistently met 100% of the Required Organizational Practices (ROPs) and 99.9% of almost 2,300 standards. A few areas that Accreditation Canada recognized at HHCC include:

HHCC is one of thousands of health services organizations across the country reviewed by Accreditation Canada to help improve the quality of care and service provided to patients. HHCC has been participating in the accreditation process since 1995.
Dr. David Scott Award
The Dr. David Scott award recognizes an individual or organization that has made a positive impact on the quality of health care through their service to the community, leadership, advocacy or by strengthening the integration of care in the community. The award is in honor of the late Dr. Scott's many years of dedicated service to his profession and the community. This Award has been in existence since 2000.

About the late, Dr. David Scott
Dr. David Scott was a graduate of medicine from the University of Toronto (1956), with a Fellowship in General Surgery (1962). He practiced general surgery in Orangeville from 1962 to 1997 and continued his active involvement with Headwaters Health Care Centre for many years after his retirement.
He held honorary staff privileges at the hospital and kept up to date on hospital affairs by attending General Medical Staff meetings. A life-long resident of Orangeville, he was Chief of the Medical Staff of Dufferin Area Hospital from 1983 to 1989, served as Chair of the Wellington-Dufferin District Health Council, and played a key role in physician recruitment with the former Greater Dufferin Area Physician Search Committee. He also served on several provincial and national health care advisory committees.
Communities in bloom
The Friendship Gardens at HHCC have received national accolades, with special mention as part of the Town of Orangeville’s national Communities in Bloom award win both in 2016 and 2018.
The Friendship Gardens at HHCC were created in 1997 for the year-round comfort of patients, families, staff and volunteers. The Gardens are a collection of 20 distinct gardens and water features, with over 400 trees, designed and maintained by a group of 20 active volunteers and supported by community donations. The Gardens can be seen from every patient room at the hospital. Specialty handmade art windows were created and installed in the Intensive Care Unit.
